Description: This layer was created to document the status of the PLSS Section Corner Monuments in Monroe County, Indiana. The majority of the points included in this layer were copied from a previous layer of unknown origin that was also maintained by the Office of the Monroe County Surveyor. We believe that the points were created at the endpoints of the section line layer, which was created from digitized USGS quad maps. The points have been adjusted where survey grade coordinate data is available, and will continue to be refined as more coordinates are collected.
