We believe that the points were created at the endpoints of the section line layer, which was created from digitized USGS quad maps. The points have been adjusted where survey grade coordinate data is available, and will continue to be refined as more coordinates are collected.

The Monroe County Surveyor's Office is seeking legal descriptions for the policital townships in order to increase the spatial accuracy of this layer.
